School trousers without stain protector / Teflon

Seems that all school trousers have that stain protector coating / Teflon coating. Why can’t you buy trousers without it?
Does anyone know where to buy trousers without it?

Look for cotton trousers. All the polyester ones have Teflon or some other coating.
Eco Outfitters do them but they're expensive, so do John Lewis and they're a bit cheaper but cotton trousers are never going to be supermarket cheap.

It's madness really, why expose children to these unnecessary chemicals.
Did you see this article the other day, is that why you're asking?

yes, not that article but a similar one in the Times on the same day.

unfortunately the JL ones don’t come in charcoal which is what my DS needs for school.

the Eco outfitters ones are coming in at £25 each in his size, but I may have no choice!
