Window cleaning rounds

Are there rules? I vaguely remember a story line about window cleaning turf rules in Corrie (or Brookside?) years ago 😆

Anyway, I've had the same window cleaner for about 20 years. Paid cash until abiutb3 years ago when he went into partnership with a female window cleaner who modernised him a bit. Now I get a text from her and tf funds to her account. This has worked fine for 3 years.

About 6 weeks ago, I got a text from her saying the partnership hasn't worked out and she'll be in touch about the future. I've heard nothing since, but today he's turned up and cleaned the windows (I was out DS saw him).

Anyway he's left a note with new bank details. He's also increased the price from £15 (which went up from £12 last year) to £20!

So I'm a little concerned about getting in the middle of whatever going on with them. Also very put out at a 33% increase and £20 for a 10 minute visit without any prior conversation. But otoh, I don't won't to clean the windows myself and it would take me much longer

WWYD?

He was the window cleaner you used for years so, if you are happy with him, I don’t see how sticking with him is getting in the middle of whatever is going on.

Otoh, as he has increased his prices, you could just go with a completely new WC with prices you are happier with. Maybe ask on FB or the Nextdoor app for recommendations?
