No longer tolerating alcohol in my 30s?

I'm 31 and I was a big party girl in my late teens and 20s. Had DD when I was 27 so I calmed down a lot but still liked a drink.
Anyway it seems in the past year my body just isn't tolerating it anymore. I did a month and a half alcohol free and did feel better but then I went back to having an occasional drink and I just can't take it. Me and my 27 year old DH had two strong vodkas each the other night and I felt like crap the next day and he was fine. It's like my face gets a hangover - I look all haggard and flushed and puffy and it takes days to go away. Anyway I know alcohol is a poison and I'm better off without it so I'm going cold turkey again, hopefully for good. Anyone else experienced this? It just happened so suddenly.

i used to be able to drink copiously but now if I have a couple of drinks I’m out for the count!
Your tolerance levels have obviously decreased because you drunk less alcohol over time
If you had continued drinking the same way you did before you wouldn’t be feeling like this, alcohol is a depressant and this is pretty normal. Maybe you drank too much in one go? If u were to drink a shandy for example or half measure of spirit mixed with a soft drink you probably wouldn’t affect you so much.

Nothing wrong with not drinking at all but if you feel like you fancy one just ask for half measures

Same here. I could drink 7 pints in my 20s. Then mid 30s it started making me feel ill. Hot, flushed, very tired. I haven’t drunk for years now. Last time I did I was out with a friend and we drank the same, probably about 4 glasses of wine each. She was fine. I don’t remember getting home and passed out on the kitchen floor and spent the next day being sick. I occasionally have a shandy now but even one shandy makes me dizzy.
