Really confused so appreciate any help.
Scottish Power installed smart meters for us a couple of weeks ago. I'm a direct debit customer, never had a PAYG meter. Gas one is fine and I found the model on the Scottish Power website with instructions on how to read it.
The electric meter doesn't appear on their website (they have several brands and pictures but none is an Itron EM425).
I don't know how to read it but have pressed a couple of buttons and got a bit worried as nothing seemed to look like a normal meter reading.
I googled Itron Scottish Power smart meter and this came up:
www.scottishpower.co.uk/energy-efficiency/smart-meters/reconnect-your-meter/electricity
it's the last one on the page. Is this a Pay as You Go meter? They shouldn't have installed it, if so!
My account on the SP website had a message saying something like 'service disruptions mean we can't get a reading' or similar - that message has now disappeared but I don't have a bill and the amount shown is very small (but not updated anyway).
Does anyone have one of these meters that acts as an actual Smart Meter? Have they screwed up? Either way there is a problem as the data about my usage isn't being transmitted to Scottish Power. I can't call until Monday and their chat is awful, just bots.
