Good morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I'm drinking my second coffee of the day while the washer finishes it's second load. Dd2's up & already chattering away 🤯 The washing was going out on the line but it's just started raining so maybe not 🙄

We're nipping into town this morning to sort dd1's bank account - they've asked to see some ID, and I want to have a look for a couple of jumpers. It was freezing outside at work yesterday! We'll probably nip to the market too for a top up of fruit.

It's probably frozen pizzas and chips for tea; dd2 wanted to make curry but there is only one chicken breast in the freezer so that'll have to wait until we go to Asda tomorrow.

Later on, dd2 wants to watch Hocus Pocus 2. I'll probably make a start on the next little house in my crochet village while we watch. I've given up on the cardi I was making for now - it wasn't interesting me 🤷‍♀️

What about all of you? 🙂

Just about to peg out the second load of washing. Pork shoulder went in the slow cooker about 20 minutes ago so that should be tasty this evening.
Contemplating another cup of tea before I pick dd up from her school open morning.

Iamnotaloggrip · 01/10/2022 11:14

I made pancakes for breakfast then spent the morning cleaning and sorting while DH took DD to her gym class. They’ve now taken DS to football so I can go out and play tennis. Not sure what’s for tea, maybe pizza. Might watch Hocus Pocus 2 with the kids tonight. Only realised it was a thing yesterday!!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 01/10/2022 11:15

Had a super busy and stressful week this week for various reasons so am planning to completely relax today. Got up early and got all the housework out of the way, I’m making sausages and eggs for brunch now and plan to watch the Arsenal game at 12.30. Might have a little nap this afternoon, then this evening I’m having steak and chips and watching strictly. It’s so nice to not have any big plans! Teen DD is home but not feeling great as she’s recovering from a UTI so I expect she’ll spend most of the day in bed, possibly venturing downstairs for strictly later.

Mummysgogetter · 01/10/2022 11:16

Does anyone else feel guilty if they slob about all weekend??

MrsHaggis · 01/10/2022 11:22

We’re taking the bus in to town to get feet measured, have a sinking feeling two kids have gone up a size since the start of term…if I’m correct, we’ll also be buying school shoes, trainers and wellies. Ugh. Gluten free enchiladas for dinner is something to look forward too though, as is putting the stove on once we are back home. (My washing is all on an airer sadly as it’s bleak weather here today.)

gingercat02 · 01/10/2022 11:30

Morning @lucysmam
Not a lot going on here. Washing load no1 almost done. Online shopping delivered and away.

Was meant to be going out for lunch and cinema with my Mum but she's a bit under the weather so that's been canned.

Boringly that probably means some house cleaning instead.

Strictly for me later and probably Mandelorian for DH and DS. No thoughts on tea as yet.

I did half an hour on the exercise bike first thing, then after breakfast went to the coop, and collected the latest takings from the community hall I'm involved with and updated the cash record up to the end of September.

Made an apple crumble with apples from the garden.

I've got a work meeting at 2pm so need to get organised for that but then it'll be relaxing on the sofa with the Saturday paper and catching up on some tv.

Filleto · 01/10/2022 12:23

I’m sat in the car waiting for dc1, they asked for a lift home which I agreed to but then seemed surprised when I turned up 🙄

I'm doing 31 days of yoga in October for GOSH so did my first one this morning, slightly injured myself in class last week though so took it easy today with a shorter and more gentle practice which makes me feel like I’ve cheated.

DC3 has a party this afternoon, DC4 is kicking off about not going. They both had a party yesterday so have spent the entire morning asking for sweets from the party bag.

Made a loaf of sourdough this morning but it failed. Think it over fermented if that’s such a thing! Got another lot of dough rising now, hope this one does better.

Have done a load of washing but the loads from yesterday and the day before aren’t completely dry so it was tricky to hang up, need to change some beds but will hold off washing them until I have more drying space. I might have to put some of the thicker things in the tumble dryer to finish off which I was hoping not to do this year but they’re going to smell if they don’t dry soon!

When I get home I’m going to do a ten minute tidy then make a start on the chilli for dinner before taking dc3 to the party.

hopefully a nice relaxed evening tonight.

Yes but that’s why I like these threads because if you detail all the little bits of your day it looks as though you’ve actually done something 🤣

Decafflatteplease · 01/10/2022 13:20

I was up early and got 2 loads of uniform on the line as it's super windy here.

We were meant to be going out this afternoon but everyone shattered so we are having really cosy day at home instead. DC are watching TV / reading / playing. DH and I pottering around.

I'm about to pop to aldi In a bit to get bits for dinner tonight and a bottle of wine as it's been a crap week

Wine and TV when dc asleep this evening.

Not a lot Grin

Took ds swim training at 5.30am.

Had flu and seasonal covid booster jabs.

Ate my first mince pie of the season Grin

Booked panto for December as my nephew in it.

Will just be chilling rest of today. Ds and I will catch up on HIGFY in a bit.

A lazy day today, my son has an ear infection so he will probably be a bit grumpy today as they hurt. Rugby away game today, we were battered last week so lets see what today brings.

I’m running the London marathon tomorrow, so I’m getting all my bits ready for that, signing up seemed like a good idea at the time…

Have a lovely Saturday everyone

Oh wow congratulations and good luck Star

Hope ds feels better soon. Mine had one last week and was pretty unwell for a few days. And he's 18!

Dimsumbun · 01/10/2022 14:13

I bought a new sofa was on a £2k reduction it’s a Parker Knoll double recliner, I’m so cheeky I managed to haggle another £100 off . I have always asked for discounts, have even managed it in John Lewis and Clark’s. DH is very British about it all and leaves it to me. My Dad wasn’t English so I am used to it.

Had my flu vaccine then DS and I dropped an old table off and lots of other crap at the tip. Quick top up shop, now laying on sofa watching tv.

Yes @Filleto this is very true!

well since my last post I have done hour in garage gym, 20 min yoga, cleaned sink, toilet and shower. Prepared an almond flour pizza base ready for dinner. Just about to go get irritated at Aldi for the weekly food shop.

Did it, survived, only regretted it for the last 3 miles!

I’m very pleased I booked today off work. I injured myself in rugby on saturday, so my shoulder is knackered and my feet/legs ache, so I’m absolutely no use to anyone.

Hmm, not amazing, more relieved! I’ve never enjoyed sitting down quite so much 🤣
