Best treatment / advice for rosacea?

It seems I can add rosacea to my ever increasing peri-meno symptoms..

None of the creams I’ve used thus far seem to make any difference (and some have made it worse), so I’m hoping for some advice / suggestions here 🙏🏻

I currently have a burning hot cheek with a large, bright red, raised patch that is starting to go a tiny bit scaly😩

Ag! This perimenopausal treat visited me a couple of months ago.
During the flare, I cut out all my usual products and washed with E45 and then used sweet almond oil. Someone recommended Rosalie which really does bring the colour down. I also got Soolantra cream from Boots online pharmacist. By the time it arrived, the flare had subsided but I’ve got it on standby for the inevitable next time. Best of luck! I know it’s not much fun.

Soolantra. My GP prescribes it - after I asked, and went armed with references, about eight years ago - but if yours won't you can buy it from online pharmacies. Now I only seem to get flare-ups every four or five months, always on my nose (great, very subtle) and only after I've eaten very sugar-intense things like marshmallows or meringue.

Another Soolantra fan here. Expensive if you buy it privately but you only use a tiny amount and it lasts a long time. Really did the trick for me. Also, cutting out alcohol did wonders

Also, when I am low carbing I don’t get symptoms.

Yes, much to my chagrin, sugar, and to a lesser extent, carbs do play a big part in it for me too. But I don't think I can face this particular winter without the warm embrace of baked potatoes.

Funnily enough I have been wondering about sugar - although I don’t actually have a terrible diet and rarely drink alcohol. I don’t drink/like coffee and only have 1-2 caffeine teas a day (otherwise decaf) and otherwise it’s water or camomile tea 90% of the time.

BUT this latest episode does coincide worth an usual couple of weeks where I’ve been drinking alcohol a few times due to various work related events (it’s the 5th episode since it first started back in April).

It hasn’t been formally diagnosed - but I am certain it’s Rosacea, so I will see the GP and ask for this Soolantra stuff.

I have been wondering if I am deficient in some sort of skin related mineral / vitamin or - hormones, which I tend to blame for all ills and ails.

Meantime, would aloe Vera gel help? My cheek feels like it’s on fire!🥵 I seem to mainly get it on my upper cheeks and along the cheekbone and up to the side of my eyes, plus a little strip along top of the brow line. So far my nose and chin seem ok🤞
