Anyone been to Thorpe Park Fright Night

Hi
Dd has been invited to Thorpe Park but it's the same day as the fright night will be running. Has anyone been to Thorpe park during fright night and do all the Halloween bits happen in a specific area so it can be avoided if you want or is it all over the park? She would just like a heads up before she goes!!
Thank you

As I understand it it’s impossible to avoid with roaming actors.

im told they’re briefed that they should ignore anyone who crossed their arms over their chests

Ok thank you I know there are scare mazes which I guess are optional but wasn't sure if there were people just aimlessly wandering!! Dd would be ok if she was 'expecting' the scare but if they came out if no where at her it would be completely different!!

They come out of nowhere and cannot really be avoided. Also the queues on those days are worse than normal. DD managed 4 rides in total the whole day.

Is fright night still going ahead? I thought I had read it was cancelled this year

Fright nights definitely on. And yes the characters do just wander around, so there is no avoiding them really.

Apologies then

We've been a lot and I think I have different experiences to previous posters!
A couple of us are 'scaredy-cats' and we were perfectly fine wandering around the park. It was the mazes that were scary (you have to pay extra for these).
There will be some actors dressed up walking around to create the Halloween atmosphere but they won't be hiding behind something to jump out on you in my experience!
Also we have found several times that the queues for the rides are quieter from late afternoon onwards as that's when the people are queuing for the mazes!
She will be fine. It's a great time to go.
Avoid the Wlaking Dead ride if she is scared. If she wants to try it there is normally a sign outside to say if there are any actors inside that day (there isn't always). Also avoid the Derren Browns Ghost train !

Also there's probably loads of You Tube videos you can watch to get a feel for it. I think Jack Silkstone is a big one, although May hype it up a bit!

The actors don't come out until after 3pm anyway, so if they are there before then they probably won't see them.
