www.facebook.com/TheTownHouseDurham/

First post on the story begins 2 days ago with "Never in a million years..." Need to read the comments as well - people with previous experience of the couple.

Unbelievable what some people think they can get away with - but the story really has got juicier with the latest update!

(Hope I haven't missed an existing thread on this)

Well I've looked now, the brass neck of them!!!

Hope they take them to the cleaners.

I saw this - what a pair of arseholes! Thanks for the update!

Millificent · 28/09/2022 19:53

I am as it’s local. I was slightly disappointed the DM didn’t mention that the couple posted how happy they were with the hotel before it all kicked off - adds a further dimension I feel Grin

Holy moly.

Their posts hurt my eyes. Awful English!

catandcoffee · 28/09/2022 20:11

I don't have Facebook. I've read they didn't pay the bill for their wedding online paper.
Has more stuff happened ?

FredaFox · 28/09/2022 20:14

This is epic, thanks for sharing

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 28/09/2022 20:20

Yes!

I'm in actual shock that a place let someone have a wedding, or ANY type of event without a contract and deposit let alone full payment in advance.

I used to work in events and no way would I let a couple have their event without payment.

whynotwhatknot · 28/09/2022 20:35

them poor people looks like theyve scammed others aswell

There are lots of comments worth looking at as well but these ones are posted by the hotel

That has it all, scams, benefit fraud, several ex husband's and wives, debt, theft, and crying to the Daily Fail.

It would've been quicker just to agree a payment plan 😂

BettyBootsie · 28/09/2022 20:52

Post from the blushing bride herself sent before the hotel started chasing them, then one sent afterwards 😄

@SliceOfCakeCupOfTea this yes!

Who doesn't get paid in advance on a wedding

ChicCroissant · 28/09/2022 21:01

On the FB page there is another wedding company who say their contract with the happy couple was cancelled only 9 days before the event - and it was going to be held somewhere different - they are also thinking about taking legal action.

SuperlativeOxymoron · 28/09/2022 21:03

I wasn't, I am now. It's a lot of drama, seems very messy...

StrandedStarfish · 28/09/2022 22:23

Totally invested. The comments on the FB post were hilarious,

I’m hoping the real Christopher Biggins becomes involved like David Schwimmer did when that bloke who looked like him stole the beer.

The newlyweds have totally shot themselves in the foot. They should just pay up

orangeisthenewpuce · 28/09/2022 22:27

Thanks for this. I've had a good laugh reading it all.
