So many negative responses and knee jerk reactions

I love MN. I really do. But I find the responses to threads often so reactive and knee jerk. It's always "LTB" or, "it's obvs he is seeing another woman"; "dump him"; "it clearly won't work out". Also instead of helpful, thoughtful advice it's "well, why on earth did you say/do that?"
Does anyone else find this? Or is it just me?

It’s not just Mumsnet, it’s the internet at large. Most people browse discussion boards for entertainment and don’t have to live with the fallout of the hard line suggestions they give.

That's Mumsnet, that's women. it was exactly the same 11 years ago, same conversations and reactions. Glad to be back on.

Hi all. No not new at all, just somewhat of an observation. Equally I think people are sometimes way too sensitive over comments that are nothing. I do love it though

I'm a relative newcomer and what shocks me most is the nastiness directed towards some obviously vulnerable women, by women. These women are obviously desperate for some advice or just a little reassurance. What they don't need is abuse from the very people who should give them some support

It's only really AIBU, Chat and Relationships that have so many batshit OTT replies. The other topics seem to be a bit more 'level'.

I think most of it is due to being able to name change because on forums where you can't, the batshit drama llamas tend to get but back in their box by other posters, or simply ignored.
