Can anyone recommend somewhere I can order a birthday cake for delivery (UK) please? Not too expensive - but nice. Thanks.

I used Maxine recently, and no only did it look amazing but it tasted amazing too. This is not usually the case !

Thanks @HappyAsASandboy and @tryharder100000000, they both look great. I might prefer the prices from Sponge given this is going to a group of students and I won’t even get to taste it! On that note, @HappyAsASandboy , have you used them personally and been happy with them?

I've used Patisserie Valarie (still going online) and it was very good.

Boothams of Whitby - I ordered a chocolate cake for my own birthday last year to take to work and there was enough to take some home. Well packaged and delicious

Yes, I have used them personally many times. We always get the large cakes between about 10-12 of us. We've had the selection cakes where you get lots of slices too - great for the variety, but not so "classic" looking with a birthday candle in the top!

Thanks @HappyAsASandboy , that’s a great recommendation. Am leaning towards them as they do Vegan small cakes so I can order a main cake and some minis for the person who’s vegan. Thanks again to everyone for your recommendations.

We have also had the gluten free cakes and they’re amazing too. Not tried vegan though!

Just wanting to thank everyone for their recommendations but especially @HappyAsASandboy and those who recommended Sponge. Their customer service couldn’t have been more helpful when we had problems with delivery - followed up with with the courier quite a few times. Cake eventually delivered a day late (though on time for the birthday rather than early so no great disaster) and, by all accounts, is absolutely delicious.
