Wills and Last Power of Attorney

me and my husband are in the late 30s. We have recently started to make a will and our advisory has suggested thinking about a document for lasting power or attorney in case either of us loses capacity.

have others made LPA?
What is the process like to do it yourself. Our advisor charges £250 (which seems reasonable) however obviously if it is doable to do the process myself I’d obviously prefer to do that.

any advice or expertise.

is it worth doing a LPA in advance or just dealing with lost capacity as it arises??
