MIL birthday - Artistic Ideas?

Afternoon everyone

It's my MIL birthday coming up and we are very skint atm. I'm a decent artist and I would like to paint something for her on canvas. I already have everything I need for this. Is that a really bad idea? She has eclectic tastes and I think she would appreciate anything I did but I'm looking for any ideas for inspiration.

I think it’s great, especially if you use colours that would work with her decor.

Another idea would be to make a gorgeous frame for a photo or to do a photo colllage for her if that’s more her taste

Thanks @Rainbowqueeen , I did do one of those large frames filled with family pictures before and she loved it. I haven't printed out any pictures for a while though so that could be a good idea.

Thinking about colours is a good idea. She has white walls and a real mix of artwork already up from landscapes to modern art, to wood and glass pieces. She just finds things she loves and displays them... The problem is she is absolutely lovely and would put it up even if she didn't like it, so I want to do play safe and get something that she will at least like a bit... So photos might be the way to go!

Do you do landscapes? Could you perhaps paint something inspired by one of her favourite holiday destinations?

I would ask her . I think it would be wonderful for someone to paint something of my choosing and would enjoy the whole process . It’s a lovely gift idea
