EVRI parcel saying delivered but it hasn't been!

I ordered a personalised backpack for my sons 1st birthday on Friday and paid £8 for next day delivery. I never received an email confirmation or email to say it has been dispatched so I contacted the retailer this morning via email who informed me the parcel was delivered this morning. It definitely hasn't been, I have been in all morning and there has been no delivery driver here today for sure. I have asked 2 neighbours and they haven't received it either. This is the attempt at 'proof' that it has been delivered? That could be literally anywhere but I know for sure it isn't my house as we don't drink for a start and it has Strongbow packaging next to it. Can anyone advise what I can do, do these things take forever to sort out? It wasn't a cheap bag so i'm really annoyed by it.

Have you got a local FB page? I asked on mine if anyone recognised where the photo could be and got mine back that way. Evri are useless at times.

Could it be in a blue plastic recycling box? We have similar but in green for our cardboard

I don't have Facebook, it's not clear whatsoever where that could be. I've had issues with them
before so are awful.

Do you have a local Evri parcel shop? Could it have been left there by mistake? I've had that happen before - the giveaway was the picture had crates of beer in the background!

Exact same thing happened to me, it was delivered to 'my outside cupboard' but the photo wasn't MY outside cupboard! Evri (Hermes then) were an absolute nightmare to deal with and didn't resolve the issue! Luckily after a few days the person delivered it round to my house!! It's so annoying when as you say, could be anywhere! I agree though it looks like a blue bin or something similar!

There is no shops local, the closest one is about 15 mins walk but I don't think they deal with evri. I don't know anyone who hasn't had a shit experience with them. Does anyone know who is liable for this? Can the retailer sort it or will they insist I have to go through Evri (who will no doubt be absolutely useless at helping).

Until it is in your hands it is retailers problem.
Send photo, say what you said here - can't be your house as you don't drink and there are no strongbow packs anywhere on your property.
At the same time contact Evri and say the same thing.

Unfortunately I suspect the retailer will just refund, which doesn't help for your birthday present.

I would say to retailer that if you don't have it by Friday you want full refund anyway, that might get them to chase Evri na bit quicker

Tell them you don't have it and ask them to check the location data for the photo to find out where it was delivered.

It could have been delivered to the wrong street - we live at an address like 4 Acacia Crescent and often find our parcels delivered to 4 Acacia Road etc and at the same time get parcels and post for 4 Acacia Road delivered to us.
