What does the thermometer on your heating control currently show?

Ours is at 15.5 and it feels freezing but really want it to stay off.

19 at the moment. Our heating kicks in at 15. Used to be 14 but even I thought that was too cold (and I hate the heating being on as it triggers my migraines)

I’ve invested in extra blankets, thermal socks and underwear tho to avoid it as much as possible

flufflycloud · 28/09/2022 11:20

Ours is 21.2 atm which seems high! It felt really chilly yesterday afternoon though so I'm gonna keep an eye on it. Holding off for as long as possible too!!
If I can't cope when it's in the 20s then I've got no hope Grin

ProlifiInProfanity · 28/09/2022 11:21

We don’t have thermometer but have our thermostat set to 15 degrees. It did kick in the other night, as we were sat here wrapped up in blankets, but hasn’t come on since.

gogohmm · 28/09/2022 11:21

It was 18 at home at 8.30 this morning. Heating not turned on yet. It's 15 at work, bit nippy - heating guru just been in and will be on from tomorrow at work

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 28/09/2022 11:23

Ours sits at 17- 18 degrees. Mid terrace which gets sun either at the rear or front. Heating not on.

Tillow4ever · 28/09/2022 11:26

Currently 18.1 in our hall where the thermostat is..... but feels colder in the living room where I'm working! The heating did come on this morning for an hour between get up and leave for school time, but other than that I'm not switching it on. I'm wrapped up with a big cardigan then a thick blanket and still freezing.

Sprogonthetyne · 28/09/2022 11:26

Currently 17.5° and a bit nippy. We usually try to hold off until half term before putting the heating on, but I'm getting close to wavering.

forumsempronii · 28/09/2022 11:28

Ours is 13. Joys of an old stone house Sad

Lovely in the heat wave in the summer though

astoundedgoat · 28/09/2022 11:30

17, but about to drop significantly as DH has just gone out into the garden and left the back door open. 🙄

TeeBee · 28/09/2022 11:32

Currently sitting at 17 degrees. There's no way I'm putting the heating on yet. Everyone can wear jumpers or use the electric blankets. I work from home so if I can survive working in it, so can everyone else. Everyone else being my son who sits with his bedroom window open constantly and my furry dog.

FlounderingFruitcake · 28/09/2022 11:33

Currently 20, the thermostat is set to 18 during the day but hasn’t clicked in yet this year and today won’t be the day. It’s a well insulated mid terrace plus we’re in balmy London.

astoundedgoat · 28/09/2022 11:34

Yesterday was cold (outside) though and downstairs dropped to 15 - 16. It's going to be warmer over the next week though, going up to 19 outside on Tuesday, I think?

I turned the heating on for 20 mins this morning when I got up, to take the chill off.

We have a new woodburner though, and I think I'm going to give it a whirl today for the first time. I'm assuming that as it will cool down slowly overnight, once I keep the sitting room door closd when we go to bed (tiny Victorian house, open plan downstairs), downstairs will stay warm-ish overnight and not be freezing in the morning....

Tarkan · 28/09/2022 11:40

It's going between 20° and 20.3° right now.

It was 17.2° this morning and it was way too chilly, even teen DD was shivering, so we put the heating on for an hour and it's been sitting at around 20° since then which is perfect for me working, if it's any colder I feel it in my hands and I struggle to write or type. I don't mind if the rest of me is cold as extra layers or a blanket works then but I can't work in gloves.

Dimsumbun · 28/09/2022 11:41

15.5 and I am fine but I’m moving around a lot sorting stuff for a run to the tip. I’m on my tea break right now.

onmywayamarillo · 28/09/2022 11:41

Roughly 18/19 was 17 this morning

But we have a window missing downstairs getting fixed today hurrah!

nokitchen · 28/09/2022 12:02

22.5. We've got a lot of glazing and the sun has been shining

BrownOrangeRed · 28/09/2022 17:04

Living room is 19.6°c but the sun has been shining through the window most of the afternoon
Daughter's bedroom is at 16.4°c
Bathroom is 14.1°c

Sunshineismyfriend · 28/09/2022 17:06

19 and feels ok but yesterday it was 19 and felt freezing. I did put the heating in for an hour earlier this morning to check it was still working so I guess if I hadn’t it would probably be colder.
