Is this message calling my DS ugly?

NC as outing
A message was posted on the class group chat that specifically referred to my instagram page. I assume it was meant to be sent to another group chat. It was quickly deleted. DH thinks I am looking too much into it. My Instagram is private but lots of the parents follow each other. I am friendly with them but not friends.
The message said " 4 pictures of DS on the swings. She really thinks that boy is special. We all think our children are beautiful"

Jesus that's bitchy.

Not calling your son ugly, just that you think he's amazingly handsome

Not calling him ugly. I think she's saying you think your son is the best thing since sliced bread, but all parents think that about their children.
It's a bit bitchy but definitely not calling ds ugly x

Kanaloa · 27/09/2022 20:43

It’s not calling him ugly. It’s saying you obviously think he’s ‘special.’ Which he is - all kids are special to their kids. If she is filled with such nastiness over a picture that she needs to send mean little messages then she shouldn’t be on social media. She sounds really nasty. I can’t stand bitchy gossips.

Oh OP,that’s horrible. I really feel for you. I don’t think it’s calling him ugly though.

Tickledpickled · 27/09/2022 20:43

She’s being a bitch. Call her out on the chat so she knows you’ve seen it “I saw your message before you deleted it.. who was it for?”

catchthedog · 27/09/2022 20:43

no not ugly but they think you post too much about your child.

Popvan · 27/09/2022 20:43

We all think that mother is a nasty beyatch.

Iguanainanigloo · 27/09/2022 20:44

Jesus Christ op. That's awful!! I wouldn't think they're saying your son is "ugly", I'd say it's more a dig/eye roll at you, and how everyone thinks their children are special/beautiful/perfect, maybe because you post more pictures than others, this particular parent has an issue with it? How horrible of whoever sent it, seemingly to another parent. Do you know who posted it? I'd say it's probably came from a place of jealousy and bitterness. I hope you're okay, what a nasty person to bitch about you, and subsequently your child to other adults who should know better.

AtrociousCircumstance · 27/09/2022 20:44

Definitely not calling him ugly at all. But absolutely horrible, needless comment - malicious and petty!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 27/09/2022 20:44

Not ugly but still what a fucking bitch. Is she defo referencing you? I’d call her out on it

RelationshipsAreTooHard · 27/09/2022 20:44

Wow. That is nasty. As the poster above said it doesn't necessarily mean that she thinks your ds is ugly but probably that she thinks you post too many pics of him.

I don't post pics on social media but gosh I'd never be so nasty about anyone that does.

Shiningstarr · 27/09/2022 20:45

That's just unkind. It also implies she thinks your DS isn't beautiful. How horrible. Do you know the person who wrote it? Was it there for long before it was deleted?

I'd be tempted to message them and say you saw their message and ask them what they mean exactly.

Kanaloa · 27/09/2022 20:45

I’d possibly agree with calling her out on it though - sometimes these 30 year old teenage mean girls can be quickly stopped when members of the group realise others have seen them behave this way. Overall I’d step back from them because to be honest this is unlikely to be a one off. They’ll be mean again.

2pinkginsplease · 27/09/2022 20:46

Not calling your child ugly, just being a bitch cause you’ve posted some lovely photos of your child.

Not worth being friends with this person though I may have a wee cheeky comment just to let them know you have seen it.

eg yeah thanks, I do think my son is pretty amazing!

BeetyAxe · 27/09/2022 20:46

It’s bitchy but not necessarily calling him ugly. Could be alluding to it though. Did you say anything? Don’t feel bad about it, says so much about her than you. What kind of mean woman says that about someone loving her child.

PlasticSheetingRTÉNews · 27/09/2022 20:46

What a cunt.

Iguanainanigloo · 27/09/2022 20:49

I'd call her out on it. Would be tempted to do it in the main group chat, but that may fuel the fire, and cause more awkwardness with other parents. So I would probably message her privately and tell her you saw the message.

@BitchyBitchBitcherson, all children are indeed beautiful. Thankfully my DC possesses both outer AND inner beauty, they most definitely get that from me. Thank you for your now deleted message.

Fluffluff · 27/09/2022 20:50

That is v hurtful.
The best thing you can do is ignore and try and move on.
It's hard but you can't rewind time

jakesbakes · 27/09/2022 20:50

That's a bitchy comment. It's basically saying it's only you that thinks he's special and no one else does. How I would interpret this is, if this person has enough energy to message such a bitchy comment it's most likely because she's jealous of you or your ds. There's a high chance of jealousy in every bitterness.

mynameischloe · 27/09/2022 20:50

100% call her out on it. She needs to know you saw her message. I bet she cacked her pants when she realised what she'd done!

quietnightmare · 27/09/2022 20:51

Worse than high school. You have to say something. Stand up for yourself and your child. What an evil woman

Scottishwidow193 · 27/09/2022 20:51

What a bitch!

I absolutely couldn't ignore that. Name and shame them on the group chat, say that you've seen it.

CrotchetyQuaver · 27/09/2022 20:51

I'd be tempted to post something so she knows you saw it before it was deleted. Nothing that can turn into a slanging match though. She sounds like a real cow though.

norwichmummy123 · 27/09/2022 20:52
