To tell boss or not?

Quick backstory...

Put on anti depressants before Christmas, worked ok up until recently. Myself and others noticed a backwards change and agreed I needed further help. Doctor said I need a higher dose and a months worth of sleeping tablets to get myself back on track.

It's going to be a rough few weeks going up on the dose considering how hard it was taking them originally.

Do I be honest about my mental health struggles so they're aware I may struggle the next few weeks or so?

If you can be confident that your boss will treat your disclosure in confidence and not tell others.
It all depends on the trust you have in them. Could you possibly be asked to be signed off with the dr if it’s just for a few weeks? That is if your company offers sick pay

@Danikm151 I'm not 100% if he will but I am friends with some colleagues and they're aware.

Sick pay is discretionary, so far I've always had it for the odd day. I have had a few days off so far this year due to covid and D&V thanks to my child in nursery bringing it home a few times. I wouldn't want to trigger a sickness meeting.

Even if you are friends with colleagues he should not disclose personal medical information without your consent. If he has history of that op you/affected colleagues need to go to HR.
