Is a million views on Tik Tok a lot?

Just been looking at DS2's account after being made aware of it by DS1 and one of his videos has over 300k views, others over 200k and 100k and many more in the 000's.

He set this account up a few months ago without saying anything to anybody (ASD and learning difficulties). He does all his video edits with music via his phone. No equipment other than that. Don't even know how he does it. I wouldn't have a clue. Lots of really good feedback, very few nasties thankfully. I had to take a deep breath before reading the comments some of which are in the hundreds!

I am just gobsmacked that he is interacting with people all over the world when he can hardly leave the house! He has been out of education for over a year and very isolated.

Does this mean he's good (I think so but am biased obviously). Any suggestions on how I can help him?

Not really anymore now that everyone is doing it. My DS12 has an account and his videos get millions of views each. Just had a quick look at his latest video- 12m views, 2.4m likes, 50k comments, 150k shares. Just a regular memes and games account. To actually benefit financially from TikTok there are a lot of criteria you have to meet. As with anything though, if he enjoys it and he is learning something, definitely encourage him.

Its really normal unfortunately, my friend posted a video of her popping a packet of crisps and it got 500k views 😅

It sounds like your son is doing something he enjoys and it is broadening his world after a tough year but tik tok isn’t like other social media platforms just by the very nature of it
