This week I became a step-grandmother to a baby boy and would like some suggestions on what to send the new parents and baby as a token of our love for them. My husband is the mum's father and has sent a cash gift however I would like us to do something more sentimental. We live 10 hours drive away and won't be visiting forbthe next few months. This is partly because my husband and his ex-wife don't get on. The new mum is very close to her mum (husband's ex-wife) who is there with her now, lives next door to her, and is helping in every way. The new mum is a lovely person, gets along well with her dad and with me but sadly we don't get to see each other as often as we would like. So we are very much in the background but just want to send something lovely that says "we're not going to intrude but we love you also". What do we send? Ideas very welcome please and thank you.
