Why do you ask?

lljkk · 26/09/2022 06:59

did you rear end someone, OP?

Yes! In very slow moving traffic jam traffic the person in front slammed their brakes on and I went into the back of them at maybe 5mph. She got out saying she was sorry, it was her fault etc. 2 weeks later she had whiplash...

I actually can't remember what happened as it was 17 years ago but my insurance company dealt with it.

it was stressful at the time and I felt it wasn't my fault. But I realised that I must have been too close to her as I couldn't stop.

They’ve massively tightened up on Pisa take claims like this
they now want proper medical info
yesrs ago it was standard no questions asked they paid

Yes. They had a hire car too and it ended up being an £8000 claim for me reversing into their side door at 2mph from a parking space. I couldn't argue it as I was the one reversing and also I had a tow bar which has damaged their door which I hadn't declared, so left it. Really annoys me to this day.

There is no way the lady could have got whiplash as she didn't come to a sudden stop, she drove behind me and as I reversed my tow bar scratched her doors.

Yes but decades ago. But if you have valid 3rd party insurance (which it's illegal not to have) then the insurance company deals with any claim against you and it's not really your problem is it?
