Do you always get changed for exercise?

Trying to find ways to feel more exercise into my day and I usually work from home I would love to be able to fit in a quick 10-minute video during my lunch or some strength building but I can't always be bothered to get changed or have a shower every lunchtime.

Also have to wear sports bra to do anything to active.

If you know you're going to exercise do you just wear your gym gear in the morning or do you get changed? What if youre having a video call? Is there any exercise you can do without getting changed as I want as low barriers as possible?

Yes but it only takes me 5 mins. Could you be dressed for exercise on the bottom with a sports bra on underneath a work top? You could then just change quickly.

I don’t think you’ll need a shower after a 10 min video.
If I go to the gym on my day off I usually go around lunchtime and I don’t shower until the evening as I have horses so will just go and get grotty again.

it only takes a minute to change into exercise kit and off again.

I usually get up, leave my pj's on but shove a sports bra under them. Exercise then shower and clothes in the wash.

Yes that could work. My sports bras aren't the most comfy which I think is part of the problem. They also give me mono -boob but I don't think that would show on camera! 😆

If I am going to a gym class straight after work i just wear leggings, sports bra etc during the day then do a quick change from work top t sports top just before I head out. You could do a quick change of top at lunch time, a ten minute video won't really make you sweat at all unless you are doing something really high impact.

I wear sports stuff until I exercise. Sometimes, I get to the end of the day and realise I never bothered. I just shove a nice jumper over my leggings and nobody knows the difference

Thanks, hoping to do strength building most days and then something more intense 1-2 per week when I would obviously shower!

I think that could work. Much easier to get motivated if I'm already changed!

for walking, no.stretching or strength traing definitely.
I mainly wear jeans, I would be afraid they would rip when stretching properly

RightsHoarder · 25/09/2022 20:58

No. I do random bursts of kettle bells during the day, press ups and squats in my normal clothes.

emptylandscape · 25/09/2022 21:01

I dress for exercise when wfh, adding a scarf and blazer if I’ve got a teams meeting.

TwinkleToesStrikesAgain · 25/09/2022 21:17

A poncho and a scarf can hide all sorts of clothing.

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 25/09/2022 21:20

I have workout clothes on and smart-ish top over or keep video off. Workout as soon as I have an hour free. Sometimes have to leave showering until I have another break. Not ideal but better than not working out.

Yes, I exercise in my pj's too. It's the best way I've found of incorporating exercise into my day as it just removes the whole exercise clothes and fitting in an additional shower barriers. Keeping it simple.

FusionChefGeoff · 25/09/2022 22:15

I get dressed for the sport in the morning and have a few 'teams appropriate' jumpers / tops that I put on top.

Whip it off then ready to exercise!

Don't always shower after especially if no calls - just shower at the end of the day
