So just started watching strictly, and watched the introduction show and week 1. I’m vaguely aware there other midweek shows? Do I just watch the Saturday or do I watch other things?

The main show on Saturday and then the results on Sunday.
The midweek shows are seperate and mainly interviews and filler bits.

Thanks, so if I watch the 2 weekend shows, can miss the daily stuff?

the midweek shows are called “ It takes two “ on BBC2. I would watch them if you want to know more details about participants, dresses, music. You could watch them from time to time, when you are up to it, they are not connected.
DD and I are watching them occasionally on BBC iplayer.

Watched it takes two, don’t think I’ll worry if I don’t watch it every night.
question - are there pros that aren’t partnered? There was one stood with Claudia that I was wAiting to see and didn’t have a partner? Do they do the intro dances and help the matched pros teach the dances?.

Yes there are some pros who aren't partnered each year: a couple of new ones have never had partners, a couple have had partners some years but not this year. The bloke with the ginger beard is a prominent long standing team member who doesn't have a partner this year: he's Neil Jones, formerly married to Katya Jones, Tony Adams' dance partner. The other unpartnered pros this year are Luba, Cameron, Lauren and Michelle (the last two are the 2 new girls who were introduced on the launch show). They dance in the pro group numbers, and with the musical guest of the week on the results show, and if one of the other pros gets injured they can step in and partner their celebs.

RawChickenTray · 27/09/2022 22:33

Thanks, that makes sense. I was thinking of this one I didn’t see dancing with a celebrity.

That's Lauren, a brand new female pro from Birmingham.

You could also follow the strictly threads on the Digital Spy message boards. There is loads there including appreciation threads for each pairing - you can pick up lots of background info that adds to the fun. The Attic Cafe has lots of dancing talk and is worth a look. forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/1894589/the-attic-cafe/p224

The other thing that you need to know is that from next week on, one couple a week are binned. The two couples who have the lowest combination of viewer vote ranking and judges ranking compete in the Dance Off and one is sacked by the judges. This is all filmed immediately after the Saturday live show, and then broadcast on Sunday early evening as The Results Show (including a couple of extra pro dances, a musical guest and a metric tonne of filler).

Hence if you really want to you can find spoilers on Digital Spy and elsewhere very late on Saturday night. The MN Strictly threads however have a zero tolerance policy on any spoilers: even "I've seen the spoiler, won't say what it is but Sad / Smile / Shock" is completely verboten.

So she isn’t paired but just kind of there?

Thats interesting about the voting, so they only accept public votes in the hours of the first show, you can’t vote Sunday morning etc. Wonder how they get the audience to not spill!
