Getting a dressmaker to copy an item of clothing

I have a well-structured blouse that fitted me really well until I gained a load of weight.

Can I go to a dressmaker and ask them to copy the design but make it to fit my current size? Is that a reasonable thing to ask for? Has anyone here had it done, how much did you pay, how did it go etc?

I did this with a dress in Singapore. The tailor did a brilliant job. She took the original dress apart, copied it with every piece a bit bigger and then put the original dress together with no overlap so I could wear that too!

Yes, I have done this too, also in Asia where it’s much more usual/affordable to have clothes made for you (India in my case)

I think this would be expensive here , & would suggest you look hard online for similar styles instead
