DS is about to turn 7.
He seems to enjoy school, always happy to go in and coming out. Doesn’t tell me much at all though! He’s got 2-3 close friends, sticks to these like glue when they’re around and doesn’t really branch out to play with others unless they’re not there.
At home he can get very annoying when bored, tries to wind up younger siblings or DP and I. He can also amuse himself though, goes off and plays independently.
His behaviour at school is ok on the whole, although he can be reluctant to do certain things the first time he’s asked and also can get too overexcited with friends. His concentration can be hit and miss too and he’s prone to chatting when he should be listening. He seems bright, is ahead on his reading but average in maths. His colouring is still quite messy IMO.
At home he is similar, he’s never really naughty in that he’s not destructive, violent (although he can get into scrapes with younger siblings) but it can take several times of asking him to do things like get shoes on, turn TV off etc. He’s gone through phases of being quite defiant but when handled patiently he responds well and eventually does what he’s asked without too much fuss.
He is pretty useless with ball sports, likes running around games like tag though and is also a good swimmer and bike rider.
