Help! Think I ate raw chicken???!

Hi all, I hate being sick, and I mean really hate being sick…

my DH cooked me a chicken burger. Frozen ones from Tesco's. Half way through the burger I spat out my mouthful as the burger was cold and uncooked inside 😢 packaging says it contains raw meat 😞

am I going to be poorly??

I'm sure you'll be fine. I assume the bits you swallowed were cooked and it was just the middle that wasn't cooked enough and you spat that out. Probably didn't eat enough to cause a problem

It's possible, but not particularly likely. Raw meat alone will not make you ill - only meat that is contaminated to begin with will make you ill, if it is not thoroughly cooked to destroy any bacteria.

Funny you should say that - we've just been to a promotion of a friend’s new business and I ate some chicken that looked a bit pink. Once I noticed I didn’t eat any more but 4 hours later I’m feeling grim.
Hope you’re ok, op.

I've had campylobactor from under cooked chicken. I didn't even eat the chicken, just tasted the sauce it was in. The symptoms were all the bottom end and no sickness whatsoever. Not sure if that helps or not!

I did exactly the same thing fairly recently and I was fine. It was a breaded chicken burger that I’d undercooked in the oven as I was used to using an air fryer 😬 Funny thing was that the undercooked part in the middle tasted really nice! I only realised as it was squishy!

I had undercooked chicken Kiev when I was away on holiday. Had the worst stomach pains imaginable. In the end I threw up until there was nothing left to bring up. I felt ok afterwards and after a night’s sleep was fine. The stomach pains were actually horrific though.
