Celebrating birthday with 1 month old

We’re very excitedly awaiting the arrival of our first baby in a couple of weeks. My DH’s birthday is 1 month after our due date.

Out of interest, how did you celebrate your birthdays with little ones? Was it a night in with a takeaway and cake? A little family trip out?

DH is such a wonderful person and support. I want to mark his birthday in some way - but I’m also conscious we’ll be brand new parents and still learning the ropes.

I was 40 a month after my baby was born. To be honest I can't remember what we did (it was easier this year!)

I was still in a lot of pain from an emergency caesarian so that coupled with sleep deprivation has made everything a blur. Your question made me wonder so I looked at some photos and apparently we had a Charlie Bighams lasagna and sticky toffee 😂 I live rurally though so no takeaway option.

Maybe get a nice ready meal or takeaway planned, but if you're up for it go out (I still find brunch the easiest meal to go out for).

My birthday 6 days after DS was born. We went to the pub!

I went out for lunch, baby that age is pretty easy. Don’t think I would have had enough energy for a dinner though.

Make a cake now and freeze it, in its entirety. Chocolate sponge with buttercream inside and covering the whole outside. Then even if it is chaos you can get it out and you are sorted!
