Children don't know what furries are. Well they shouldn't know. I'm sceptical of a lot of things aimed at children these days but I really don't think this Barbie is promoting fetishes.

I would have immediately thought furries but that is just my inappropriate mind. Its definitely not a weird type of barbie. 30 quid though :0

DD would have loved it when she was young. I don’t think that’s their intention, but it’s all I see. I can’t imagine no one at Barbie central didn’t see it.

But yes my daughter (age 14, autistic, says things rather plainly) pointed them out as "OMG it's Furry Barbie" !
Obviously though the average Barbie fan won't know what a 'furry' is....

Is there a dog one? I associate dog costumes with furries more than cat costumes.

Fetish for animal costumes. Furries say they're only interested in humans wearing animal costumes and not actual animals so it's different to bestiality. 🤷‍♀️

It's interesting there isn't a dog or a fox costume Barbie. That suggests Mattel are aware that wouldn't be a good look.

I think that's too much mental energy to expend on a toy.

My daughter loves these.

I am 30 and I don't know what furries are, so I'm certain my 7 year old daughter doesn't either.

but basically they are just normal barbies with a furry outfit over the top, they remind me of the masked singer thing - not that I've ever watched the mask singer.

Just showed my DS 15 - instantly 'Barbie Furries' - finding it hilarious, sent it to all of his mates.
