Car wheel nut key

Google hasn't been able to help.

I have a punctured tyre (it's on my driveway thankfully). I've booked a mobile tyre fitter for Monday and just saw that it needs a wheel nut key. It's a nissan micra k12 2006 and there isn't one in the boot. The manual doesn't have any info just says you may need a wheel key if wheel bolts are fitted . Any fellow nissan micra k12 users know if it's needed? Thanks

post a picture of the wheel

You might not need one, take a photo of the wheel.

Triple check the glove box and any door pouches.

It all depends on whether it has security wheel nuts or not

Oh yeah it looks like you need a locking wheel nut. Check the glove box, under the boot floor, you'll have to drill them out if not.

Pants! I've searched the car and nothing. Just the spare tyre, jack, and wrench.

That doesn't look like it needs one. They look standard nuts?

itsthesoundofthepolice · 24/09/2022 12:30

Looking at the picture, it looks like normal nuts. Do you have the wrench thing you need to undo them, check it fits on

Nolongera · 24/09/2022 12:33

Don't worry about it, the tyre fitter will be used to this.

Last time I had a brake job done I forgot to tell them where the locking nut key was and they couldn't find it or contact me, they just ground it off and fitted a new one, cost me 15 quid.

Yes I 've found the wrench thing and that fits over each nut. Thanks everyone for helping.
