Illness going about

Muddlebubble · 24/09/2022 10:13

Hey, just woundering if anyone has this illness?

Full bodyaches, shivering and cold then boiling and sweating buckets.
Horrific headache and god awful diarrhea.

My husband and kids have a cold/cough/sore throat virus but i dont have either a cough, cold, sore throat.

My whole body feels like its bruised and awful stomach pains.

None of us have covid, we have all tested many times as i was adamant mine was as the body aches are exactly the same.

Yes, I had this early September (London, but think caught it from a relatives child who’d just flown back from holiday day before I met up with family). Thought it was Covid but didn’t come up on tests. Felt like milder symptoms of when I had Covid early in the year (aches/chills, fatigue, headache & the runs)

Now have Covid (as per test): more of a v sore throat, headache & cold symptoms

Not sure if it’s 2 different illnesses or if I’m just lucky & got 2 different Covid strains 🤷🏻‍♀️

@containsnuts sore neck can be a sign of meningitis, please get checked out x

Yes, that did actually cross my mind especialy with DC but they recovered so quickly I thought it unlikely. I still have the sore, stiff neck but feel perfectly fine otherwise and been out and about. Noticed yesterday intermittent pain in my jaws/cheeks so guessing it's some sort of swollen glands and assuming it'll settle down soon. Should have mentioned both negative for covid the whole time.

I have cold, sore throat, body aches and I've vomited the last two mornings (not pregnant). Feel spaced out and awful. Hope you feel better soon op.

Me and my dd have this, she had sore throat for a week, now it’s developed into a full blown cold and feeling really rough. Tested negative for covid. I’ve had the stomach cramps and temperature but nothing else.

macthekwife · 25/09/2022 09:52

Yup, most people we know are coldy/fluy. Not us, we're all fine as always. Vitamin C daily for us and avoided covid jabs and didn't become germaphobes during lockdown.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 25/09/2022 09:57

We’re all fine too, had all covid jabs and flu jabs as and when offered and stuck to the advice through lockdowns (I’m not sure why that’s relevant to ops post @macthekwife

@Muddlebubble , that sounds grim. I’ve not heard of any friends in our part of South Wales having such a nasty array of symptoms all at once. Hope you’re feeling much better soon.

Muddlebubble · 25/09/2022 10:52

i have heard anecdotally that there are lots of bugs going around. COVID rates are also high again. LFTs don’t always pick it up. Could very well be that. Hope you feel better soon“

where are you? Last Covid figures I heard were on BBC last week where they said that Covid rates were at their lowest, around 1 in 75 now?

Bestcatmum · 25/09/2022 17:29

I work in the NHS and my mask has gone back on for winter. We don't have to wear them but I don't want stinking colds all winter and whatever other lurgy comes along.

roses2 · 25/09/2022 17:32

DS(6) woke up this morning with a fever, crying of a headache and has had a little vomit. No energy and has been sleeping all afternoon on the sofa.

Muddlebubble · 25/09/2022 17:50

Poor baby sounds like it's definitely doing its rounds. The heaches are awful and pain killers only last 2 hours max.

Ive stopped taking nurofen today as i read can make tummy worse so trying to last longer on just paracetamol

Those of you that have had it and recovered, how long did it take to get better.

I'm on day 13 now, negative lfts every other day and still feel grim 🤒

Hope you're all feeling better soon x

@LoopDiL00p : first time around (March) took me 3 weeks, took my sister (who I caught it off) ages - 8-10 weeks

we are both (early) 40s, fit & healthy: I have the constitution of an ox so was really surprised. Just rest lots

DSis’ doctor said up to 3 months is ‘normal’ for Covid, my friends who had it then have been taking 2-3 weeks to feel decent, 6 or so to have full energy back

Sorry might not be what you want to hear: more you rest now the shorter it will all be

Muddlebubble · 26/09/2022 08:56

Long night here, diarrhea every 3 hours, but stomach has some what deflated.

When i had covid a few weeks ago, i would say it took roughly 3 weeks from start to finish to feel back to normal, it was more tiredness to recover from.

On hold trying to call doctor for 45 mins as concerned i have blood in my stools now, very much doubt i will get an appointment

I had covid a few weeks ago and now I have a bloody awful cold that hasn't shifted after a week. I have been sore all over, sore throat, infected sinuses, cough. I just want to feel well again.

Muddlebubble · 26/09/2022 11:33

I know exactly what you mean.

Honestly having so much time off work too really is worrying
