New car uninsured and not taxed

According to the online databases. Only bought it on Thursday. I did insure and tax it. How long for the data to show up? And would you be nervous about driving it? (I have a copy of the tax/ insurance confirmation and paperwork) but as a new driver I’m worried about getting stopped by the police.

We were stopped by the police the day after having a new car. DH just brought up the documents on his phone from his email confirmation, it didn’t cause any issues.

If you know it’s insured & taxed I wouldn’t worry about it.

Its never crossed my mind to check online once I know myself everything is in place.

if you’ve been emailed the tax/ insurance confirmation I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve never been stopped for not having tax/ insurance in the short gap ( a couple of days) it takes databases to update. Apparently there are a million uninsured drivers on the road so I don’t imagine the police are that hot on it.

They have twitter to police after all.

I was going to say the same, I wouldn't even thnk to check anywhere. Once I've paid that's it for another year and it's off my mind

Do most people follow it up?

The police may stop you due to ANPR picking up as uninsured/untaxed, but it can be quickly confirmed

If concerned you can double check your confirmation to ensure the registration is correct, but the system will eventually feed through
