It's my toe.

I have psoriasis on my big toe. But about 6 weeks ago it was really tight and bad. Anyway, I pointed my toe and it split through the middle!

As you can see in the pic, I know it isn't great quality, it's one of the creases everyone has on their toes. But it's split and won't bloody heal

It's been 6 weeks! The pain is horrific. Just an open wound all the time and for some reason feels like the actual bone of the toe is hurting me a lot now

I've got a GP appointment next Friday. Can anyone advise me why it won't heal?

Have you seen a dermatologist about it? DS has severe eczema and when he has cracks like that the only thing that helps is a mix of bactraban, synalar and emulsifier. You could ask the GP to prescribe that though and it might help.

Ooof poor you OP that looks so painful. I used to get splits like that on my fingers as a kid and the only thing that helped was a strong steroid cream prescribed by my GP. In the meantime until your apt you could try hydrocortisone cream which you can buy over the counter. Hope it gets better soon.

You may need antibiotics, my husband has psoriasis and when he eventually went to the gp with bad back pain it turned out he had a pretty deep infection as a result of bacteria entering through the broken skin of the psoriasis at the base of his back, we would have never thought of that because the psoriasis looked no different than normal.
