Such sad news. She had a beautiful way of weaving words, the Wolf Hall trilogy is my favourite comfort read.

heldinadream · 23/09/2022 11:27

Oh no. I'm really shocked. Thank you for posting, I've not seen it.

Hugasauras · 23/09/2022 11:27

Was shocked to see the notification Sad

heldinadream · 23/09/2022 11:28

Only 70. She could have written so much more.

PollyAmour · 23/09/2022 11:28

How sad, only 70, that's not old at all these days.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 23/09/2022 11:29

She was a wonderful writer, incredibly talented.

AndAllOurYesterdays · 23/09/2022 11:32

Such a loss to literature. Am half way through the Mirror and the Light right now and it's such a great book. I find myself thinking about Thomas Cromwell all the time. The way she wrote really evoked another world.

HappyMackerel · 23/09/2022 11:33

How sad! She is truly one of the best comtemporary writers

AiryFairy1 · 23/09/2022 11:34

Ah this is sad news. I’ve had Wolf Hall sitting on my shelf for 2 years - might have to read it now .

StamfordBridget · 23/09/2022 11:36

I’m currently reading A Place of Greater Safety and devoured the Wolf Hall trilogy earlier this year. Incredibly sad news - she was brilliant.

FloorCushion · 23/09/2022 11:36

Oh that's so sad. An amazing woman, still at the height of her powers.

Oh no, this is awful news 😥she was a sublime writer. Such a loss 😞

Cremombuly · 23/09/2022 11:40

This is so sad. I hope she took comfort and that her family can take comfort from knowing she left these great works that people will continue to read.

Spudlet · 23/09/2022 11:41

Such sad news. The Wolf Hall trilogy are amazing books. All the way through the last one, even though I knew how it would end, I was still desperately hoping that Cromwell would somehow survive. And I can’t think about Cranmer without thinking of his portrayal in the books, and feeling so sad about the ending he was headed towards.

Eranzer · 23/09/2022 11:43

So sad, restarted Wolf Hall just last night.

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 23/09/2022 11:43

Oh no, that’s a damn shame 😟

sashagabadon · 23/09/2022 11:44

Awful news, l loved her books. I’m not one for mourning famous people but I’m quite shocked and upset at this.

lifeturnsonadime · 23/09/2022 11:46
