Basically like a an in house agency where departments need some help eg need an extra hand for a few hours a week or something temporarily to help them with getting through some back log. So you wouldn't need an

....agency worker. These "jobs" then get posted internally for employees and ppl can earn a bit extra and do the work flexibly around their current job /!evenings / weekends etc. It would be a way to help each other out / get a feel for other departments / get those pesky tasks done.

Is this open to staff who already work there on a permanent basis?

I work for an LA, we have bank/As and When staff.

Our trust has the bank or the nurse pool. Bank is solely booking where you are needed, pool is on top of a contracted position to book extra shifts elsewhere. You can be added to the nurse pool after 6 months in a contracted position

If you don't mind could you pm me what your local authority is. Totally understandable if you don't want to!

The reason I'm asking, and in hindsight I should have said this in my op! Was I have this idea which Id like to present to the HR management team and wanted to contact a few local authorities to see if how they run it and get some ideas from them.

LA here and we don't.

I'd be very surprised if your local health board doesn't already have a bank/nhs locum pool. I have worked in several and never come across one that doesn't

SirChenjins · 24/09/2022 10:08

NHS here and yes, there’s a staff bank for nursing and admin staff
