How did you get access to your detailed coded gp record?

I've signed up on the Nhs app but all I can see are my allergies and medicines. I've read on here people are accessing more detailed medical records and wondering how I can do this.

As far as I'm aware, you need to apply to them for access. I don't know how you do this though. But I highly doubt that you would be able to do this via an app, which would be very insecure. You could call your GP surgery and ask them how to go about getting access.

You need to get access via your gp for your records then align them using the nhs app. There's a paper form this at our surgery as it requires a signature and proof of ID

You can also request a paper copy of your your records via your gp under gdpr regs- there's no charge but will take around a month if your gp is anything like ours

Yes, you can apply on the app - I already had an online account with the surgery, so security was done using info already submitted. Otherwise, I think you have to go in.

I went into the surgery and filled in a form and showed ID. I was sent a code but entered it into another app called patient access which should link to the surgery but I always get the message that the GP practice system is unavailable. I can't remember why I went with this app and not the actual NHS app and don't know if that's a factor in me still not being able to see full records or if it's to do with the surgery. I have to go back but do hate dealing with them.

I can see part of my record on the nhs app, codes not free text, I requested access at my practice.

I Contacted my gp and they sent me to a link online. It only allows you to request specific records such as a certain illness or time. I was hoping to see it all.
