I'm over thinking, should I just do it?

There's a man. I've know him forever as part of a wide group.

Since I became single, 18 months ago, my social life has changed and I now spend more time with the single people in that group, of which he is one. I haven't done it deliberately. It's just happened, the couples seem to have drifted off and the singles invite me to more things, so he's become a closer friend than he was.

Anyway, mostly we've done things as a group, occasionally just the two of us. Quite often we'll be the last two at the end of an evening. We always have a nice time, he always includes me when arranging things, but nothing has ever "happened". He's very attractive, but I'm not even sure I want it to, he's been a very valuable friend in a difficult time and I'd hate to change the dynamic of the group.

Anyway he's offered me (and one other) spare tickets for the Engalnd game on Monday, which I'm delighted to accept.

I've just seen a post that our local pub is showing Italy v England tonight. I was thinking of asking if he's free to go. Because of the last minute thing it's harder to arrange a group and I know the most likely candidates are already busy. He may be too, but I thought I'd just see. I'm at a lose end.

Playing with fire or go for it?
