Yoto mini - any good?

I'm thinking of buying my DC (age 5) a yoto. Can't find a yoto so might have to go yoto mini. I'm in Ireland and shops are either sold out or it says "held up in customs, we'll restock soon". Yoto minis are available right now.
Is the functionality just as good? Or are they missing something major that makes them not worth it.
I think DC is too old for a Tonie box/ will outgrow it soon.

We have the mini - the only real difference between it and the original is that the original has a night light feature and you can set it to show when it's morning etc but we have a gro clock for that anyway

My 5 year old really loves his.
