How do I spot trolls?

I keep getting sucked in.

I've responded to 2 horrific troll posts recently. About neonatal death/baby funerals

It's just awful but I can't spot them and don't want to read and run if the person is possibly genuine

Honestly I feel so sad

I also got taken off a thread recently to do with jeans. Someone asked for suggestions, got a few replies and then thanked people. Job done - I came back to the thread with a link for the OP and it was gone! 'Thread deleted - previously banned poster' what am I not spotting?!

The drama. It's all about the drama!

I'm usually pretty suspicious nowadays at long drawn out threads with constant drama and updates, and a second/third thread with a witty title.

Thread recently got deleted. Something along the lines of wanting to share a birthday party with a dead baby. Just no. Nobody would do that or suggest it
