The one that got away

I don't know why but I keep thinking about the man I loved when I was in my 20s. We worked together and he was the male version of me. It never worked out (we were as flaky as each other!) but we stayed friends for years until around 2015. I don't know why, but I really really miss him. I tried emailing him a couple of times but no reply. Don't know why - we never fell out.

I can't escape the feeling that we were meant to be together. (Even though we're both now married to other people!)

😞

Tell me about your One That Got Away.

Name changed because I'm paranoid. 😄

I loved a guy so deeply in my early 20s I feel like I've never got

Ffs, sausage fingers. I feel like I never got over him.

He was absolutely gorgeous, funny, clever, charming. I honestly couldn't believe he wanted me but he did.

He had a situation with an ex that wouldn't let go and we let it destroy us.

I still think about him often, wonder if he's happy and actually if we bumped into each other now if the attraction would still be there.

I genuinely think it would. We had such an amazing connection and that year was the best of my life, until it wasn't.

If we'd been older I think we'd have got through our troubles then who knows what would have happened.

I don't believe in such a thing. If any of the bastards, I mean men I loved in my past were right for me they'd still be in my life today.

If he wants to, he will x

Yes! These are always in our 20s, aren't they? The decade where we have to make the biggest, life-defining choices. And the decade where were the least equipped to make them.

Yeah he was the guy I needed to meet in my 30s.

I 💯 thought you were going to finish that sentence, "they'd still be alive today". 🔪
