Has anyone flown from Gatwick on a weekday recently?

I'm flying out of Gatwick mid-morning on Monday. I'm wondering if it's worth paying for fast-track through security or are the queues shorter now?

I went on a Sunday recently and breezed through. Was 25 mins from parking in the long stay to past security.

Even in May at the height of the half term madness we went through security pretty quickly. It was only about half an hour in the queue then. The difficult bit was that all the queues for the eating places were so long we couldn't get breakfast. Wasn't the case last month.

Friday lunchtime a couple of weeks ago we were through in less than 20 mins. Worst queue was people who couldn't scan their boarding passes to get into the security queue.

Great thanks! I last flew out of Stanstead in July and was so glad we fast-tracked - the queues at bag-drop were bad enough (and the food outlets) But it sounds like it's not necessary now so I don't think I will bother.

Went in June at the height of the madness. We paid for fast track security but it turned out we didn't really need it.
