Yes OP, this has puzzled me for the last 32 years (I’ve thought of little else!). Even as a 12 year old when I first watched it with my big sister as unfamiliar with the concepts of prostitution and exchange rates as i was, I remember thinking you’re selling yourself well short there love - 3k for a whole week!
