Question about the queue jumping.

Obviously I've read all about the petitions to oust holly and Phil after they apparently jumped the queue. But we know there was a whole host of 'celebs' who were allowed to jump the queue including randomly Sarah Vine (ex-wife of Michael Gove).

So why isn't the petition for everyone? Why just for those two?

This is a genuine question btw I'm quite curious but if anyone wants to indulge me, I've also been wondering whether you think Charles will make Camilla curtesy to him now. I can't imagine Camilla making her kids curtesy or bow to her but Charles seems more of a stickler for the rules.

I think it’s do with general turn in affection for them as a couple also how they have explained it away as doing it for the show rather than saying ‘yes we made the most of the media pass’

I could be wrong. But I think the first photos and reports suggested they were in the actual long queue. Which they now say they were not and never made out they were, they walked around the outside to a platform which is for press.

I don’t know where that first photo came from wether ITV or the press or just some one taking a screen shot.

I think people feel misled that it was made out they were in the queue and waited hours, when they didn’t. But I don’t know where that first story that suggest led they were queuing came from. Also ITV took quite a while to respond to any of it, which I think made it look worse.

I think it also looked worse as more and more people who could have queue jumped didn’t.

I saw yesterday there’s also an objection because they aren’t journalists. I have no idea why people aren’t bothered by people like Sarah Vine. Possibly because it wasn’t a news story ‘Sarah Vine Pays her respects to the Queen’ didn’t appear in any newspapers as far as I know.

As op said, I think the rides been turning on them for while now. So that’s probably not helped.

They appear to have lied about what they actually did. They said that they weren’t in any kind of queue, yet the pictures show they were.

they did not need to go in the journalist viewing area to then be able to record a segment about how solemn the whole thing was. So seems to me They did it so they had the opportunity to go and view the coffin but could claim it was work related reasons. Even if it was genuinely work related reasons it’s all a bit distasteful. Do people really give a shit what Holly and Phil thought about it? It was live streamed, people can see it for themselves. Or I’d be more interested in hearing what a normal person who’d actually queued thought about it 🤷‍♀️

Because their brand is "I'm just like you", "Im so relatable". VIP queue doesn't say that.

I think they’re right and that’s probably what they did. But I think the actual question is did they need to even do that. I might be wrong but I got the impression that broadcaster platform was meant to be for the main news channels camera men who were actually filming it for the news and live feed. Not for every 2 bit tv presenter to traipse up for the experience.

As pps have said, they're not journalists but didn't they do a piece about the lying in state on This Morning? Personally I think this row is pretty disrespectful as it makes it about them even more.

They went on Friday when they don't host. There was no episode of This Morning broadcast until Tuesday by which time the funeral had already taken place. Apparently there was no camera crew with them so they couldn't interview people in the queue etc.

Putin is escalating, our US trade deal is not happening and our ‘special relationship’ seems in jeopardy, bonuses for bankers but working people told to get better paid jobs or lose their benefits, JRM arbitrarily decides he is the authority to lift the geological experts’ seismic activity levels for fracking as they’re too low....all this in the last couple of days alone, but of course Meghan Markle & Phil & Holly are the real reason we’re all struggling

I've no time for the Daily Mail but Sarah Vine is an accomplished journalist who writes well.
