Medina restaurant Marrakesh

Anyone have any suggestions for a traditional restaurant serving Moroccan food in the Medina? DH has found one but with international cuisine

Walk around and eat at the tiny places where locals eat. They don’t look fancy, but are lovely. I avoided the ones aimed at mass tourism. one exception was the one at the Jardins Marjorelle as it was such a lovely experience.

The only food poisoning we got in marrakech was from a place that served tour groups….

we asked at our hotel after that and they suggested good places.

Avoid the international ones or the ones aimed solely at tourists - I'm trying to remember names of places but failing currently but I would aim to eat at the market, eat at a riad, eat at a fancy restaurant - we had a nice hammam spa and dinner package at one place - the food and atmosphere is amazing! Avoid eating at the main Palace or somewhere overlooking the square (just go for drinks to soak up the atmosphere!)

I love marrakech and everyone is super lovely when I've been there but just remember to be polite - don't be rude or ignore people and you'll be fine

We settled on eating at a Riad. We are going to the Medina tomorrow with a guide at 4, eat at the Road then back to the Mandarin Oriental. Can't wait and thank you for your input
