What are the absolute best wax melts?

TokyoSushi · 21/09/2022 11:38

I have wax melts in my little WFH office, I love them, but I've run out!

Looking for something that smells utterly divine and can ideally be ordered online, what would you suggest? Prefer light, floral, fresh scents.

I've got Yankee 'All is bright' it's fresh and light, perfect for the office. I have mine on a time so it's one for an hour in the morning and afternoon.

I tend to pick up seasonal bundles on ebay. Yankee do seem to be one of the strongest and longer lasting fragrances.

Yankee are terrible! Hardly any scent.
I whole heartedly reccomend Candlewick Greens. Never had wax like it!! So unique and strong smelling

I swear by LucyFurr Brightstar! Her wax melts are the best I've ever used and so reasonably priced. I love that she doesn't make everything smell like fabric softener and perfumes like a lot of people do. I've been buying all my melts from her for years now. Her site is www.lucyfurr.co.uk/

I was gifted some last year by a workmate and they are the strongest melts I ever had absolutely divine and last for ages I've not ordered from anyone else since.

Asda do their own brand of them. Can't remember the name of the line but they have an espresso martini scent. Long lasting deep scents that don't sting your nose and only £1 each

The Little Candle co are really good. Scents seem to last and really fill a room. Postage can seem steep but I tend to bulk order as I use them most days. Their Jo Malone dupes are spot on too.

Freckle Face are fab- the drawer I keep the box in even smells heavenly! They do a monthly subscription club also :)

Her candies are wonderful, so I'm certain her wax melts will be too:

Yankee candles always smell very synthetic to me.

These, I've been buying them since 2007. She restocks everything Friday at 7pm, and you can click the little i button on the website next to each listing for scent descriptions once you've picked the drop down

Another vote for Candlewick Greens. They're really strong and their house blends are amazing!

Glass and Wick. Subtle and paraffin free (no soot, kind to animals). Beautiful, natural scents and recyclable packaging (no plastics).

I don't wish to derail the thread but would anyone mind telling me how wax melts work? Are they better than a scented candle?

I saw some in a garden centre the other day but didn't understand how they work. Also they were very tiny, how long do they last?

Thank you!

Thank you!

So you put them in a wax burner with a tealights, which heats them up and releases the smell. When cold they harden again. You burn them until the scent goes, then soak up the wax with a paper towel or pop it in the freezer so the wax just slides out
Much more scent than a candle. You can also get electric burners but I'm a tealight fan!

Thank you for explaining. I might try these.

I have tried an electric diffuser using essential oils, but this led to a build up of damp in the room due to the flow of warm steam.

Try Glass & Wick - amazing scents and a really lovely company/staff to deal with if you have any queries.

I tried a couple to start with and ended up on their monthly subscription box. Each month you get 2 full sized packets (12 melts in all) and they are tailored to the seasons. This month included Frankincense and Myrrh which is just divine. The prices I think are good too, very competitive to many out there, plus their packaging and sets are quite classy looking, perfect for gifts.

Here is a referral code - you get £4.95 off your first order and I get loyalty credits.
Thank you in advance if you do 😊
