Copper coil going wrong/experiences

Has anyone ever had any experience of the copper coil going wrong?
I had mine fitted end of July.
Periods got heavier and lasted longer, fine, was aware this was likely to happen.
When I had it fitted the Dr wanted me to have a transvaginal ultrasound to make sure the coil had not perforated my womb as I am at an elevated risk of this as I am still breastfeeding.
The sonographer said that one of the coil arms is twisted and that there is a large pool of liquid sat in my womb which may be blood. She said she couldn’t say more as it would have to wait for a doctor. I have been bleeding very heavily mid cycle for about a week now and having different, more intense pain than period pain.
I have an appointment at the family planning clinic tomorrow.
I assume as the coil is damaged it will have to come out? And that the fact that there is a pool of potentially blood in womb would mean than the coil did perforate my womb?
Any experiences or advice greatly received.

No advice. I've come on here for some help myself! Had the copper coil in 3 months. My periods have been the same length, but really really really heavy (day 2 soaking through pads every 30-60minutes! I kept thinking, well give it 6 months to settle down... then one night I had sex, mid sex there was pain in my womb, then that night I was contracting! I didn't sleep AT ALL. (I've had 2 kids) my womb was contracting, it was like I was in early labour or something. I felt sick, dizzy, my womb was contracting. Went to the doctor, she said my body may be trying to expell the coi, but it felt like it was in the right place. I told her regardless of what she feels, I can't cope with this anymore - get it out of me! She told me of the risks of pregnancy, I didn't care - just get this thing out, I requested! She took it out and since I have had waves of sickness, I AM SO TIRED ALL THE TIME, I feel bloated, grumpy, I have period pain and lower back pain. I've done a pregnancy test (before my missed period) that is negitive. My cycles are between 28-35 days long, I'm on day 23. Been back to the doctor, no urine infection, no pregnancy (urine samples only done). Doctor is having me back in for blood tests next week, she's going to test for pregnancy also in blood. I haven't had sex since the night before I had it out 11 days ago. I feel awful and want to get to the bottom of it. What does anyone think? Anyone had a similar experience??
