Toddler bed wetting whilst awake

Im hoping someone can help. We got rid of my 5 year old daughters dummy three weeks ago, we did it gradually over 6 months so she was prepared. Since then, bedtimes have been a nightmare. The main concern being that she is weeing in her nappy just minutes after using the toilet. She claims she was asleep and didnt know it was happening but this isnt true, shes very much awake. I think its for attention because she knows ill come up and change her but im worried she will damage her bladder by forcing it out so much. She did this 5 times in an hour last night and im at my wit's end. We replaced the dummy with lullabies as she said that would help her soothe herself to sleep. But she screams and crys about everything at bedtime. Light on, light off, fan on, fan off etc. She just wont settle and i dont want to introduce more habits to break later on. Am I doing something wrong? How can i help her?

5 isn't a toddler!

What are you doing when you go up to change her? You need to be Extremely Boring. No chit chat, no lights, nothing. Just change in silence then say good night and leave.

What would happen if you stopped using a nappy? Sounds like she doesn't really need one, or is she also weeing in her sleep?
