Anyone ever regretted extending or moving to a bigger house ?

2/3rd of the way through an extension atm and it’s almost broke me mentally

now i wondering if we did the right thing

maybe I’m regretting it
we will have less money every month now for the next ten years !

maybe I’ll feel differently once it’s finished and we start to enjoy the extra space
but tbh i find a larger home rather intimidating
in terms of maintence and cleaning etc

we did a large loft conversion last year which also then went over budget. I felt quite sick about 1/2 way through when i wasn't sure we'd get the space we wanted, was surprised by how the stairs looked and was worried about not having enough money to finish it

But - it's worth the extra money on the mortgage

we have a gorgeous master bedroom suite with en-suite and teenagers now all have their own large rooms so lots less fighting and everyone has a lovely space. Stairs look brilliant now we've decorated as they flow well and still think money well spent

cleaning is a pain though!

what did you do to replace the lost loft space ? A new shed or garage or anything ?
