Dental cleans

I neglected going to the dentist for years. I then had to go in an emergency a few years ago. After that, my dentist had me on 6 month cleans. Just regular cleans.
Then last year, he pushed it out to once a year.

This summer I got sick a lot and for the first since since forever, there were nights when I was too ill to brush my teeth. I was horrified, flattened in the bed without brushing my teeth. There were at least 8 or 9 times this summer when I was too sick to brush my teeth.

I'm wondering if I should be phoning the dentist for an appointment and bringing the cleaning forward? What do you think?

I was sick again last night and too sick and sore to stand in the bathroom and brush my teeth.

This is happening now so many times.

I'm feeling a tooth with my tongue and it feels rough. There's no pain.
