Negotiating more money. Yay or nay?

So, I have been offered a new job, big company in a senior role. I first started this process back in may when I was asked my salary, which I gave. I was told the employer would pay up to X amount ( which is great and more than I am currently on) however since then my company has done a cost of living increase payrise. I don't know if it's really wrong to ask for for more money from new employer as it's easier to negotiate this at this stage. What is your thoughts?

Usually you get offered a role at x£ then you can negotiate and agree the £

if you’ve already accepted an offer I don’t think you can suddenly ask for more or you could but they can say no

In your circumstances I would ask for more - if the process has taken so long, it's understandable that your circumstances and salary have changed in the meantime.

Of course you negotiate for more. Never accept the first offer.

Thinking. I just didn't want to come across grabby but I think they have been so slow it can possibly go in my favour

Definitely do it at this stage, don’t wait until you have the job because you may not get the opportunity once you have started.

In a senior role I think it's important that you do ask actually. They want people who will advocate for themselves and their team.
