Looking for new friends near Guildford/ SW Surrey

I see so many posts on here with people saying they find it hard to make new friends so I'm going to put myself out there.

I have 4 kids, two are in juniors. One goes to a SEN school miles away and dispite a few meet ups when he joined, that's all fizzled out.

My daughter goes to the village school and dispite putting myself forward for the class rep in reception I again didn't make much meaningful contacts as covid happened a few months into hercstarting and I'm a bit of a introvert when it comes to breaking into groups of people already talking in the playground. We were allowed to stand and talk then when we was, everyone seemed to already know each other very well.

I have friends but they aren't local any more. My one local friend is planning on moving to the SW soon.

I go walking every week with a group of friends from my sons secondary school but dispite having a great time with them weekly, I only see them within that group.

My youngest kids are 7 & 10 and I'm just trying to find some people who want to meet up for the occasional chat, coffee, wine, walk I really don't mind . I tried peanut but it seems to be for new mums. I try to arrange coffee mornings at the schools but everyone seems to busy or they all seem to be already in their own little groups.

I'm really worried of being lonely when my friend moves. I do two voluntary jobs but no luck there either so far.

I'm south of Guildford but drive.

Regular on MN but changed my username

Hey @PinkStickleBrick I know exactly how you feel. My child is the same age as your youngest and I am so bored senseless. All my friends are busy with life no one has time. I do voluntary work too.

I tried mush I think it's called. Most of the mother's on there have young children too. Unfortunately I'm far away from where you are. Hopefully someone living nearer will reply soon.

If you want someone to chat to, PM me. I'm currently trying to arrange a coffee meet up with both the younger kids schools and feeling a bit tearful.

I think people just aren't interested in making friends. But at the same time lots of people are lonely. Don't feel I can outrightvsay I'm lonely. At least I have the weekly meet up with the walking group but I'd love a proper friendship

Hi @PinkStickleBrick , Sorry for the late reply to your thread. I'm also looking to meet new friends in the Guildford area for a coffee, chat, cinema trip or drink. I'm recently separated with a 14 year old daughter. Happy to chat if anyone interested.

Hi @Larsson7cat I'm still up for meet ups.

That's great @PinkStickleBrick . I'm not too familiar with Mumsnet to be honest. Is there a way to chat and find out a little more about each other?
