Oodies or alternatives for plus size ?

rainydaysandcake · 19/09/2022 19:45

Already starting to feel the cold and looking into Oodies or other type. But I'm a size 20.

What Oodie types are good for a bigger size?

Thanks

An oodie is perfect for bigger sizes. It's massive.

APurpleSquirrel · 19/09/2022 19:49

These are nice - got one last year, they're massive & you can unpopper the sides (I'm a 22).

I’ve got oodies in plus size I’m size 22 (jeans very lose but big hips) go up a size if need be.

HipposHaveNipples · 19/09/2022 19:51

Oodies are absolutely massive (I've got three). I think they would fit pretty much everyone.

Darkness22 · 19/09/2022 19:53

Not to be rude, but the ones in dunelm are enormous. I'm overweight myself, but these are so huge they just seemed impractical. So you definitely don't need to be slim for this type of thing.

BobbysGirly · 19/09/2022 19:53

Oodies are huge! I was a size 18 when I received an Oodie as a Christmas present. There was plenty of room and more to spare. Go for it. All my family love their Oodies

clpsmum · 19/09/2022 19:55

The original oodies are fantastic and will be absolutely plenty of room x

Cuppaand2biscuits · 19/09/2022 19:56

I'm size 22 I've got one from a local garden centre, it's great quality and plenty big enough.

Daisychainsandglitter · 19/09/2022 20:13

I was given a oodie from Dunelm. I'm a size 18 and it's massive on me.

Trying81 · 20/09/2022 05:47

Simply Be have one similar which goes up to size 32

BrownTableMat · 20/09/2022 06:09

I’ve got a kuddly. It’s enormous on me, so much so I wish it was a bit narrower as I think that’d be warmer. I’m currently a size 14 and you could fit 2 of ne in it. I’m sure it’d fit a 22

Windingshrubberies · 20/09/2022 06:17

Kuddly fits great for a size 20 with big boobs

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 20/09/2022 06:31

You will be fine, I think I read they are 6XL.

crossstitchingnana · 20/09/2022 06:36

A side issue I know but why have onesies gone out of favour? I wear one and can't see how an oodie will be warmer.

I hate my shoulders getting cold when l need the loo in my onesie, maybe it is more practical to wear an oodie?

crossstitchingnana · 20/09/2022 08:39

Mmmm good point.

I’m 5ft10 and size 22. Oodie is still very big on me 😊

OxAl82 · 20/09/2022 08:46

I have a few ‘Snuddies’ from Primark , size L/XL and they are baggy on me and I’m size 20-22. £16

listsandbudgets · 20/09/2022 08:49

Sorry to hijack but when I looked it seemed they should be hand washed which puts me off. Is that right or are they OK in the machine?

misskatamari · 20/09/2022 09:25

I've got a "the comfy" one from a few years ago and it is GINORMOUS! I'm a size 16/18 and I could fit another one of me in it 😄

misskatamari · 20/09/2022 09:26

@listsandbudgets i put mine in the machine. I don't even know how I would hand wash it. It's humongous!

listsandbudgets · 20/09/2022 09:29

Thanks that's what put me off - plus drying the thing would negate any possible lower charges on gas we gain by wearing them!!

Ours (ok it's DP's but if he doesn't get there first...) dries fine hanging up even with no heating on as long as it's been on a fast spin. DP is an XL-XXL in men's tshirts and it is very loose on him so wouldn't worry about the size.

Also have a couple of Primark ones - they are also pretty big (I bought L-XL so could share with DP) but also come in different thicknesses - the cheaper ones are just fleece, so wash and dry fairly quickly, and then there are thicker fluffy-lined ones which are more like the real Oodie. I like having a thinner option for when it's not totally freezing or if I just want to pop something on over clothes when wfh.
