I can't get over how quiet it is this morning.

It's like being in lockdown again.
In the road opposite me is a park that people walk through to get from one side of the town to another. Usually by now there are dog walkers, dogs barking, people chatting as they walk past my house, younger children playing on the equipment.
I'm town centre and I am rarely hearing cars.

Yes. I can usually hear traffic in distance. Nothing this morning. Went to Tesco about 6.30 last night and it was like Christmas Eve (but no bargains), with gaps on shelves (no cucmbers!).

The same where I am, the streets definitely have that lovely lockdown hush I quickly became accustomed to. Shame it’s mizzling though.

MrsSkylerWhite · 19/09/2022 09:35

Normal day here, lots of people out and about, cars driving by.

Zonder · 19/09/2022 09:36

It's a bank holiday of bank holidays really though, isn't it? Things are shut that are open on many bank holidays. Even our corner shop and village pubs are shut.

AuntieMarys · 19/09/2022 09:36

Raining here too

Sparklingbrook · 19/09/2022 09:36

I can't quite believe that the reason I am not just getting into work is that somebody I didn't know died and everyone has to have the day off. It's so strange.
It is really quiet and a bit odd.

JamSandle · 19/09/2022 09:37

I'm really appreciating it. Unfortunately my dad has just got the hoover out XD

Sluj · 19/09/2022 09:38

There's a peaceful hush here too, reminds me of the morning of Diana's funeral.

Remainiac · 19/09/2022 09:40

It’s like Xmas Day in our village. Grey, drizzling and barely a car on the roads. Planes were just as noisy as usual though from 6am (we live very near an airport).

closingloop · 19/09/2022 09:40

It's a nice sunny day here and everything continuing as normal as farm animals don't respect bank holidays. Will have an early lunch and watch the tv at 11 though.

I’m at home in C London. Can hear a pin drop it’s so silent. There were helicopters overhead this morning, but now nothing. Feels like Christmas Day.
